About the Exhibition:
Co-organised by the Vietnam Sewage Treatment Association (VWSA), Vietwater has grown over years to become one of the most influential brand shows in Vietnam even in south-east Asia. It is the only exhibition in Vietnam recognized by the public water network of Southeast Asia and the Vietnam Water Association. Government officials from the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam will also attend the opening ceremony and seminar. The show alternates between Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s economic hub in the south, and Hanoi in the north. In 2019, Ho Chi Minh will continue to play an irreplaceable professional role. The latest technologies and products of all industries will be displayed in the exhibition, providing a good business platform for buyers and sellers in the industry.
Market Introduction:
Vietnam’s water supply market has huge potential. Though 78% of the urban population has access to piped water, only 44%t of the rural population has access to piped water. Among the more than 600 towns and cities in the country, more than 400 do not yet have access to piped water supplies. In some big cities, such as Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, water supplies are still not keeping up with the city’s rapid development. At the same time, the problem of water pollution is also very serious. It has aroused the main concern of the government who is taking effective measures to solve this problem.
Hanoi needs about 300,000 cubic meters of pure water a day for its citizens. Right now, the government can only meet 60% of the demand. Over the past five years, the daily output of purified water has been approximately 4.3 to 4.4 million cubic meters. However, this is far behind the development of cities. And about 40% of the water is lost in transportation.
Vietnam plans to build 30 sewage treatment plants in the Mekong Delta Region from now to 2020, with the prime minister’s approval. Overall planning has begun. In June 2013, with an operating capacity of 17,650 cubic meters per day, a sewage treatment plant was opened in the southern province of Pingyang with financial support from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The first phase of the project received 7.77 billion yen (USD 77 million). In May 2013, the Asian Development Bank provided a loan worth USD $249 million for the supply of water and road improvement of the two projects.
Last Show Review:
VIETWATER 2018 has an exhibition area of 10,000 square meters and nearly 70 exhibitors from China. There were 380 companies from 35 countries such as Japan, South Korea Malaysia,Singapore, French attended the show, of which only 40% were Vietnam’s local exhibitors, overseas exhibitor amounting 60%. The three-day exhibition attracted 8,053 professional visitors from 32 countries to seek for new technologies and solutions, explore the up-to-date development trend, looking for new cooperation and business opportunities. In order to better serve exhibitors from sewage treatment industry and environmental protection industry, new energy exhibition area began to be added in 2015. The success of this attempt is expected to make VIETWATER even better in 2019.
