About MYANWATER:
As another emerging market in southeast Asia, myanmar has the richest resources. However, due to the slow economic development, the development and utilization of resources are still in the initial stage. Especially the use of water resources. MYANWATER 2019 is designed to meet this need and will continue the success of the previous exhibition. The exhibition has received full support from the Myanmar Association of Engineering and Construction Entrepreneurs. It is expected that there will be more than 200 international exhibitors and 5,000 professional visitors from municipal sewage treatment enterprises, real estate and other related industries. The exhibition also provides an excellent platform for exhibitors throughout Asia to showcase new technologies and products, and lays a solid foundation for entering the myanmar market.
In Myanmar, more than a dozen major river basins cover 737,800 square kilometers. With 1,082 cubic meters of potential water resources and 495 cubic meters of groundwater, Myanmar is extremely rich in water resources. But water usage is only about 5%. Agriculture accounts for the largest proportion in myanmar’s economic structure, with water utilization rate of 90%. Only 10% are industrial and civilian. Municipal water supplies currently cover only 60% of the country and only in Yangon, the largest city, there is running water. The government is also working to improve water coverage. The World Bank has provided $85 million in loans to Myanmar, and the Asian Development Bank has set up an office in the country. More than 40% of Hydrotek PIc’s income will come from investment in Myanmar over the next three years. According to the Bangkok Post, seven new industrial zones will be added to the 18 existing ones.The Myanmar government is also about to introduce Environmental Protection Law, which requires all plants to conduct waste water treatment.
