About the Exhibition:
Uzexpocentre will host the 14th uzbek international agricultural and livestock exhibition, one of the major exhibitions of the uzbek agricultural and food processing industry. These exhibitions serve as a platform to build a long-term reputation for cooperation between foreign manufacturers and buyers from uzbekistan. In 2018, 7,200 visitors from 12 regions of uzbekistan and neighboring countries visited the exhibition. Therefore, the government will provide exhibitors with special assistance and preferential treatment to assist exhibitors in customs clearance of products and technologies.
Market Analysis:
Uzbekistan, with an estimated population of 32 million, is the most populous country in central Asia. Therefore, providing the uzbek people with sustainable food through sustainable agricultural development remains an important strategic issue for the uzbek government. Currently, agriculture is one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy and the third largest contributor to GDP (17.6% in 2016). Due to climatic conditions, 85% of agricultural land in uzbekistan is irrigated. The most important crops are cotton and wheat. Other important products include fruits (apples, apricots, peaches and berries), vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes and potatoes), milk, silk and farm animals. As the traditional main agricultural product, the output of raw cotton has been greatly reduced and about 170,500 hectares of land have been liberated. The land will be used mainly for potatoes and other vegetables, forage crops and horticultural crops.
Uzbekistan currently produces about 16 million tons of fruit and vegetables, which is expected to increase to 50 million tons by 2030. However, only 15 per cent of fruit and vegetables are processed in uzbekistan, resulting in serious seasonal and non-seasonal waste and price fluctuations. In addition, since only 5 per cent of the national harvest can be stored, an estimated 800,000 tons of refrigerated storage capacity needs to be increased. As a result, demand for modern machinery, processing equipment and cooling technology is growing as the government aims to improve the efficiency of agricultural products.
Animal husbandry accounts for 40 per cent of total agricultural production. In the past five years, livestock has increased by 21 per cent, of which cattle have increased by 7 percent, sheep and goats by 20 per cent and poultry by 1.5 times. Today, nearly 95 percent of livestock, or 10 million animals, are raised on small private and commercial farms. They produce more than 90 percent of the country's meat, 95.7 percent of its milk and 54.8 percent of its eggs. The number of farms has exceeded 400 and 99,200 head of livestock are currently raised. The good market advantage will promote more trade.
