The Sri Lankan economy is now rmly back on track chalking up impressive economic growth of 6% over the past few years. According to the ADB, Sri Lanka is on course to achieve 8% growth in 2015. Backed by a stable Government, the country is investing in improving its infrastructure to regain its position as a leading business, manufacturing and tourism centre in the region. After a period of instability Sri Lanka has emerged as a star in recent years. With its economy growing over 6% in the past few years, the GDP reached US$67 billion by end 2013. The country is poised for sustained growth of 8% and is projected that in the next 5 years, Sri Lanka’s economy could surpass US$100 billion with per capta income exceeding US$5,000*.
